What Do We Do? The K.R.D Federal Credit Union is a savings and lending institution you own, along with other members. It is operated for use by the members on a nonprofit basis. By using the credit union, you will get better returns on your savings and be eligible to borrow at low rates. What Is The Purpose? As a member\owner of your credit union, you have voice in the decisions that shape your financial institutions future. Other financial institutions are run to make money, and “customers” have little say about direction. Credit Unions adhere to the philosophy of “not for profit, not for charity, but for people”. Who Operates The Credit Union? Along with a staff of 4 employees, people elected from the membership actually operate the credit union. An unpaid Board of Directors meet monthly to determine loan rates and declare quarterly dividends. An unpaid Supervisory Committee (auditing) reviews the books and operations. And an unpaid Marketing Committee who promotes KRD in the community. If you are not sure if you qualify for membership please call the office. Who Can Join? The K.R.D Federal Credit Union field of membership includes: 1. Civilian employees of the United States Government who work in or have headquarters in McCook, Ne. 2. Employees of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in Grand Island and McCook. 3. Employees of MidPlains Community College McCook campus who work in McCook, Nebraska. 4. Employees of the following entities who work in Red Willow County, Nebraska: Parker (Formerly Dayco) McCook Community Hospital / McCook Clinic Public Schools located in Red Willow County Red Willow County, Nebraska	The City of McCook, Nebraska Hillcrest Nursing Home W.
